You know I think I’d consider myself the luckiest person of my generation to grow up on the Central Coast and listen to the music that I did growing up. Being half a 90’s kid and growing up in the 2000s I got to experience music in a way I can only guess others would take for granted. Growing up in the late 90s early 2000s really exposed me to how mixed the international music scene was, a time where the likes of Beyonce, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Eminem and Creed among others existed on the airwaves in harmony.
Come the 2000s the more my interest in music expands with the pop punk/emo scene exploding into everyday life, as well as Australia pumping out some of the greatest names in our country's history like Eskimo Joe, Powderfinger, Grinspoon. Then thanks to my awesome parents I get introduced to the greats of their times like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and more in the huge list of music greats. Of course growing up on the Central Coast during the 2000s was an amazing time as there was so much popular music to choose from, everyone having their favourites from all the different types of music there were and discovering more because of the friends you made.
Being someone who likes to learn too, I love to research the music I love, from history, to trivia, to rumours and everything in between. It’s like that feeling of finding a treasure and you have to share it with everyone. So imagine my delight when Central Coast Radio came along and I was given the chance to do my own shows! I jumped at it as quickly as I could and now I get to have some time on the air with my two shows. On Sundays playing whatever music I want! And on Wednesdays; Music Exploration, where I deep dive into a topic of my choice music wise!
